I have a HP Pavilion Notebook PC g6-1d98dx and my keyboard started to fail.
I wonder if I can change the keyboard to a life-size like the one on the
HP Pavilion laptop 2235us g6, because it has a larger keyboard with numeric keypad. I know this will cause a change in the palmrest touchpad as well.
It doesn't have to be THIS model, ALL touch pad and a keyboard that fits and works would be nice.
It wouldn't be a problem for me if I had to do driver or firmware or changes if necessary mods.

I'm trying to update my laptop after not having used it a while - my daughter has used only listen to Spotify. Windows 10 previously installed.
The keyboard and mouse on this laptop have stopped working. I used a wireless keyboard and a mouse who worked briefly - just long enough to troublshoot my material in the hope that it would be useful to fix the keyboard and the mouse. A number of unidentified devices had apparently been disabled, so I clicked on 'fix' for each one as it worked through the process.
After that diagnosis was finished, I rebooted, and now even not my keyboard and wireless mouse are working. I have no way to get this put laptop updated with drivers, etc.
I pressed 'esc' when the laptop is coming, but I don't see anything that would allow me to solve this problem. I'm not a computer repairman.
Help, please! Thank you.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but these older computers laptops fare not good when the upgrade to Win10. Win10 really bad upgrade assessment tool assess the material limitations on these old PC, and as was the case with your upgrade, you only find that things do not work AFTER the upgrade.
To make things even worse, unfortunately, the GoBack Win10 function is know unreliable and when it fails it can leave machines in a damaged condition.
The Win10 upgrade is known, in some cases, corrupt the partition of recovery that are stored by the OEM that built the original machine. It's pretty much guarantee that no HP recovery will work.
I personally upgraded a few 'old' Win10 and in all cases, machines have restored their return to Win7. Flaky, again coupled system FORCE Win10 performance updates from MS and other things all of a sudden then don't work DO NOT - all these were too much for people using the PC.
So, I used HP recovery media to restore their former SES - where EVERYTHING WORKED!
That's what I recommend you do with the DV4 - consider using HP recovery media. It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs. You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.
You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on 'Update'. If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.
Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:
If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1
If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/
Don't forget to read through the material in the linked thread before attempting the recovery: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00707939

I currently have a dv7t-2000 with [email protected] and ATI mobility Radeon HD 4530 discrete graphics with 512 MB dedicated memory.
I want to upgrade the processor and the motherboard to improve its performance and its Windows experience index (lowest value is the graphics card with destop performance for windows aero).
My question is
(1) are the best processors listed in the manual dv7t as Intel Core 2 Duo T9800 2.93 GHz parts 507951-001 and other compatible.
(2) can I replace the current Board system with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 discrete graphics with 1 GB dedicated memory? What is the difference between parts # 516294-001 516293-001 against? The two identical descriptions a.
Is it useful to upgrade (i.e. it would improve windows performance index)?
Is it easy to replace the motherboard? All the specialty tools?
Thanks in advance for your help.
The dv7 series is a challenge even for experienced laptop technicians. There are several boards of sup and ribbon cables going in all directions. The T9800 will agree and will work on any one of the motherboards in the manual that you apparently (let me know if not) and will greatly increase the WEI on the processor. She is always equivalent to most of the i3 processors. The HD 4650 is going to be a pretty big improvement on the HD 4530. But that's like saying I'd rather have a 1964 Chevrolet as a 1953 Chevrolet... nor is technologically current as for video cards go. Current demanding games will exceed the 4650's powers.
I checked partsurfer for two motherboards that you list and I checked the manual. There is widespread confusion. PartSurfer lists the jury 294 as a 'UMA' or integrated graphics subsystem, and lists the 293 Commission that the use of dual core AMD processors. Something is not good and frankly I would waive the exchange of motherboard, but if you really want to try let me know and I'll try to clear up the confusion.
A T9800 is about $35.

After have changed the card motherboard and CPU for my dell latitude e6420, my keyboard and trackpad stopped working, there was no hard drive in the system, but external keyboard works and internal system in and trackpad worked perfectly before the changes. is this because the drivers have not been installed or what? or because it's a new motherboard? I can't access bios and it gives pxe - e61 media test failure of the cable
later, I put a hard drive and still the keyboard and palmrest didn't always work. but again, I changed the jury and everything works fine!
I have a keyboard and wireless Microsoft mouse 2000 but the transceiver does not seem to work.
I also have another transmitter/receiver (same model) which belongs to Microsoft Wireless Keyboard and Mouse 5000, so my question is:
is there a way to use the wireless 2000 with this new transceiver box? How can I change the transceiver settings so that it finds the keyboard and mouse?
Thanks in advance
You can not.
The receiver is synchronized with the keyboard and the mouse in the factory and cannot be re paired at the level of the Office

I accidentally bent the USB transmitter for my Pavilion All In One irreparably, and so I am looking to buy a new transmitter of keyboard/mouse/USB to my computer. I'm looking online, but must use the wrong keywords because I can't seem to find any information on what game should I buy for my computer again.
Can someone tell me please what set of keyboard should I buy? Thanks in advance.

- About half of the time the screen is upside down when I opened the PC. Sometimes closing and by reopening bypasses the screen. Sometimes a reboot is required.
- The hardware keyboard and the touchpad randomly is disabled. A full restart is necessary for reactivation.
The machine is working. The service company argues that were without material errors, and restored the operating system to windows 8 - who has not solved the problems.
I see in this forum a lot has similar problems with this model. I've tried every suggestion I could find here. Onfortunately it did not help.
Just for the follow-up of this: HP transferred my 'case' in Danish support, who contacted me by phone and loved very much for help me.
I send a few drivers for display, chipset and touchpad, with instructions to install them in a specific order.
Unfortunately, it has not solved the problem.
I was then absent for various during some time and when I went back to using the machine again, there was an update of display driver of app HP Support Assistant unfortunately the autoinstall has failed, but I managed to find the same product on the HP website driver download and install manually from there. I also found a newer version of the chipset driver, which I also installed.
Installation of the required drivers, a lot of tinkering, including the assistance of a third party (provided by HP) to completely remove the old display driver, several restarts in safe mode, etc.
At the time of writing these I have had no problems on keyboard for a while - hoping he disappeared completely. The problem with the screen being upside is still there, but to a much lesser degree. In addition, the orientation sensor seems more sensitive, while just shaking the screen backwards a little wil if he turns in the correct position.
If this will continue to be the situation, I can live with that.
But still: (almost) all that work to make a product works as advertised should not be necessary. It should work out of the box or at least with a quick access, automated driver update.
When I saw a great add to the airport the other day, promising that HP will 'continue to reinvent', I couldn't help wishing that they would take a break, in order to ensure that they have already invented is currently working as expected ;-)
Hello.. I have upgraded to windows 10 days back. But as the cursor froze a lot, I switched to windows 7 today. Now the situation is worse. The touchpad or the keyboard does not work. I tried to connect the keyboard and mouse external, but also those who did not. I am able to connect to windows through fingerpass, but unable to do anything. Please help as soon as POSSIBLE. Thank you!
Thank you for your inquiry.
I understand that you upgraded to Windows 10, but due to a problem with the cursor freezing frequently, you returned back to Windows 7. Now the touchpad or keyboard to respond. Connect a keyboard and an external mouse also did not work. You are able to log into Windows with your fingerprint, but are still unable to access anything whatsoever.

Hi, after I upgraded my Alpha to 10 Windows x 64, the sytem lost connection to my keyboard and mouse bluetooth (both Microsoft, ironically).
In the bluetooth Setup screen, the devices of just no longer appear.
Unistalling the driver HID keyboard and restart has been recommended in many forums. I have not seen a change. Is there anything else I can do?
You have probably the Intel 3160 ADAPTER Bluetooth 4.0 or the Intel 7265 ADAPTER Bluetooth 4.0. Try to reinstall the driver for your system and restart the computer.
My Sony Vaio T series Ultrabook running Windows 8 froze during the execution of a program. The Task Manager does not work, so I used the sidebar on the touch screen to restart. In my device manager, there are yellow signs next to my keyboard and touchpad. An external mouse does not work either! After a repair, he says: my computer has problems with PnP devices. After a new Windows 7 Ultimate installed on my PSLB0E L300, I lost the use of the keyboard and mouse pads.
I did the installation with a usb mouse, who also now works. I downloaded all the drivers connected to my machine using the virtual keyboard, rebooted after each installed drivre, still does not.
I also updated the BIOS, 1.3-1.5, still does not
The strange part is that I can't access BIOS with F2, or sequence of starting using F12 at startup, navigate through the BIOS, so the keyboard works, but no longer works when Windows 7 has started.
I tried to put all the defaults in the BIOS, no change.

Have you installed additional drivers or tools for these external devices? If so you should remove, just check the software list in Control Panel.
Normally the touchpad can be turned on/off with the FN + F9 key combination.
In addition, it would be interesting to know what is happening on the factory settings. I mean the operating system preinstalled by Toshiba.
